2025 BGC Summer Tours

July 14, 2025 ~ Summer Garden Club Tour #1 at the home of Megan and Greg Epler Wood in Burlington to learn about rain gardens.

Greg spoke about the water permeable pavers that make up the driveway.

Megan spoke about the work they have done to capture rainwater before it reaches the lake.

July 30, 2025 ~ Summer Garden Tour #2 at Marijke’s Perrennial Gardens Plus in Starksboro.

Dutch native and Master Gardner Marijke Niles gives the history of her beautiful 8 acre mountain garden property.

Marijke specializes in low maintenance and nature-nourishing native plants and  hardy succulents such as sedums, and hens and chicks.

Marijke leads the group through her colorful perennial gardens.

August 12, 2025 ~ Summer Garden Tour #3 at the Vermont Flower Farm, Marshfield.

George Africa, our host, tells about hundreds of daylilies, hostas and other perennials at the Flower Farm and Nursery.

Even during a heat wave, members enjoyed the Vermont Flower Farm!
