Organized in 1934
Federated 1938
The Burlington Garden Club (BGC) of Vermont has a history of promoting horticulture, civic beautification, and conservation since its founding in 1934 as the “Garden Group of the Fleming Art Association”. Initially partnered with the Fleming Art Museum, the club later became an independent entity in 1937 and incorporated with National Garden Clubs in 1962. The BGC has been actively involved in community projects, including preventing Dutch elm disease, promoting Victory Gardens during World War II, and supporting various gardens at local institutions.
