The annual Plant Sale in May provides most of the funds for the two Scholarships in Horticulture at the University of Vermont, for projects with young gardeners, for the projects in civic beautification at several public areas, for hand crafting small gifts for over one hundred Meals on Wheels recipients, and for flower arranging with senior citizens at three nursing homes.
After last year's great success at the first attempt at a new fundraiser, the Crafty Gardener's Holiday Tea, the Club unanimously agreed to host another Tea on November 8, 2011. At the event, members and their invited guests enjoy elaborate tables of tea sandwiches, special desserts, and beverages at beautifully decorated dining tables. The treasures offered for sale are garden related and mostly hand crafted or baked, as well as almost a hundred fine potted plants.
Staging and participating in Flower Shows each year is another rewarding activity for many members. This year a small show will be presented in a private home, see information on the Special Events Page.
