Executive Board meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of the month, at 9:30 a.m. at the homes of the Burlington Garden Club members.
Burlington Garden Club meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 1:15 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 899 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT (802-863-6764).

September 27, 2011 - "Grow Salad Microgreens and Culinary Herbs Indoors at Home" by Liz Kreig. Focus: Indoor Gardening.
After a summer of fresh salads and culinary herbs, there is no need to settle for trucked-in, bland-tasting greens. Learn how to quickly grow nutritious micro greens and easy herbs. A sunny window or a small indoor light system can yield a crop of delicious treats.
Liz is the owner of Rising Sun Greenhouses and Landscape Co. offering landscape consultation and design services. She is a Vermont Certified Horticulturist and VT Master Gardener.

October 25, 2011 - "Inspired by Bach: The Music Garden" by Julie Moir Messervy. Focus: Civic Beautification.
Julie completed the award-winning Toronto Music Garden in 1999 as a collaboration with renowned cellist Yo-Yo-Ma and the City of Toronto. The three-acre public park will be shown based on the "First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello" by Johann Sebastian Bach as we travel down the curving paths through six garden "movements" that flow with the different moods evoked by the music. A book signing will follow the presentation.

A Luncheon Social at Noon for Club Members.
Members will enjoy a soup and salad luncheon provided by the Executive Board and desserts by the Hostesses. Members will have an opportunity to vote on Woodsy Owl posters created by students for the Woodsy Owl poster contest.

February 28, 2012 - "Extremely Low Maintenance, Gorgeous Perennials by Season" by Kerry Mendez. Focus: Horticulture.
Discover beautiful, low maintenance perennials that tolerate lean soil with minimal fertilizer, water and deadheading. Design tips will be included. A book signing will follow the presentation.

March 27, 2012 -"Books in Bloom" by BGC Member Dr. Valerie Bang-Jensen. Focus: Youth
Based on student research on children's literature in collaboration with botany students in the Biology Department at St. Michael's College, this garden at St. Michael's College features flowers that play an integral role in children's literature.

April 24, 2012 - "Three Easy Projects to Make Your Gargen Come Alive" by Judith Irven. Focus: Horticulture.
Everyone loves colorful flowers but not the commitment of a large garden. Three easy self-contained projects will be demonstrated. Learn what to do and what to avoid. Included will be a presentation of plants for season-long color that thrive in our northern climate.

June 26, 2012 - Annual Meeting for Members at the Burlington Country Club.
"Same Flowers - Different Styles" by Valerie Cleary, FGCV Judges Council Chairperson. Focus: Flower Arranging.
This demonstration illustrates using commonly available flowers, not tropicals, for two traditional and two creative designs.
